What was the first writing instrument used?

Answered By Zach Pinegar, Editor

The quill pen is considered to be the pioneering writing instrument ever invented. It was introduced at around 700 A.D. This is made from a bird feather and was used then by most of the right-handed writers. The feather of the goose is the most common element for the creation of quill pen. Its usage lasted for two weeks only, after which it is needed to be replaced.
